Bahrain army spokesman crosses humanitarian lines
Al Wefaq National Islamic Society said recent tweets of Khalid al-Buainain, the official spokesman of Bahrain’s army, display a lack of morals, humanity, patriotism and religion. His tweets reflect the environment that endorses him and are considered an act of open hostility to the homeland, Al Wefaq added.
ِِAl-Buainain used very provocative language talking about the beliefs and rituals of the Shiite sect and even accused its clerics of immoral practices. More shocking, he accused citizens of certain religious backgrounds of not knowing their own pedigree.
“The Bahraini regime is responsible, morally and politically, for the insults and immoral statements against citizens based on the sect they belong to, made by al-Buainain given that he occupies a highly sensitive senior official position, as the spokesman of the army”, Al Wefaq stated.
Al Wefaq described the insults as a drastic blow and a shame that requires a public apology to the people of Bahrain, who cannot accept such hatred and sectarianism. These practices are a real motive of revolutions and uprisings, Al Wefaq added.
