Indian Shia cleric: “Desecration of holy shrine a heinous crime”

An Indian Shia religious scholar Tuesday termed the desecration of holy shrine in Damascus ‘a heinous crime’.

The holy shrine of Hazrat Hujr Bin Uday Al-Kindi, the companion of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), near Damascus, was desecrated by western-backed terrorists two-days ago. They not only destroyed the Hazrat Hujr’s shrine but have exhumed his body.

In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Syed Jalal Haider Naqvi, President of Shaheed Muttahhari Society in New Delhi said: ‘The tyrants, desecrated the shrine of Hazrat Hujr, and their western supporters have shown their cowardice face.’ Destroying a holy grave and exhuming the body is a heinous crime against mankind. So, those involved in this shameful act can’t be called humans, he added.

Blasting the desecration by western backed terrorists, which has hurt the sentiments of Muslim world in particular and humanity in general, Naqvi asked the Muslim nations to wake up against this impudent and arrogant act.

“’The brutal terrorist attack is vicious violation of religious values and required strong condemnations and actions by world bodies,” concluded Jalal Haider.
