Curbs on Muharram processions in IHK unjustified: Al-Moosvi
In Indian-controlled Kashmir, senior APHC leader and President of Anjuman-e-Shari Shian Jammu and Kashmir, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi has urged the authorities to lift ban on annual Muharram processions.
Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi chairing a meeting of his party at Zadibal in Srinagar said, “Curbs on Muharram processions are unjustified. It is interference in the religious matter. So we demand that the ban should be lifted at an earliest.â€
He pointed out that the authorities were not serious in giving practical shape to their claims regarding arrangements for Muharram processions. Al-Moosvi said that the fight of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) in Karbala was the highest example of sacrifice.
The meeting also reviewed arrangements and finalised the Muharram functions.
