Former Jihadi Commander, Two Taliban Shadow District Governors Killed in Afghanistan

A former Jihadi commander and two Taliban shadow district governors were killed in a clash between the rival groups in Northern Samangan province.

Mohammad Sediq Azizi, the spokesman for the acting governor of Samangan province, said that the clash erupted in Zeeraki village of Dara-i-Sof Payan, Khaama press reported.

He said Mullah Mohammad Karim, a former Jihadi commander, was heading towards the village mosque for prayers alongside his forces when Taliban militants surrounded them.

He said a clash erupted between the two sides, which left Karim and four of his bodyguards killed.

Aziz further said that Qari Shamsullah alias Qari Shamshad the Taliban so-called governor for Roy Dwab District, Mawlawi Bozarg the Taliban shadow governor for Dar-i-Sof Payen District and Niamatullah the Taliban commander for Dara-i-Sof Payen District were also killed in the clash.

According to Azizi, Taliban have also kidnapped four civilians from the same village after the clash.
