China bridge collapse toll tops 38 deaths
The TV said 24 people were still missing in the disaster on July 19, after which one person was rescued.
The area where the bridge fell on the Danning Highway had seen heavy rain in previous days.
According to China Central Television, at least 25 cars fell into the river, and teams searched kilometers downstream to rescue victims.
A similar collapse in May in Guangdong province killed 36 people. Rains, intensified by climate change, have caused a series of landslides and floods across Asia.
