Over 200 Militants Killed, Injured in Afghanistan

Over 200 militants were killed in military operations across Afghanistan in the past 48 hours, the Defense Ministry said Saturday.

Spokesman for the Defense Ministry General Zahir Azimi said that 114 militants were killed and 103 others wounded during military operations across the country in the past 48 hours.

Azimi further said that 14 soldiers were killed during the same period.

Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and ammunition were also seized by the security forces.

Afghan National Security Forces launched all-out military operations against Taliban and other militant groups across the country after they took the full responsibility of security from NATO at the beginning of this year.

Thousands of militants have been reportedly killed during these operations.
