300 More Taliban Join Peace Process in Northern Afghanistan

Afghanistan’s 1st Vice-President Abdul Rashid Dostum called upon the Taliban that joining peace process and living in peace is better than being killed in Afghan National Security Forces’ military operations.

The 1st vice-president attending a huge gathering of the Taliban who came to join the peace process in Northern Afghanistan said this is not the time to fight against own government, Khaama press reported.

He said this is time to help the government and take part in the betterment of the country.

On Wednesday a group of about 300 Taliban gathered in Shaberghan, provincial capital of Jawzjan, and announced their allegiance with central government.

The 300 Taliban included Taliban nominated governor for Jawzjan province.

In recent days this is 2nd batch of Taliban joining peace process because of the efforts made by Dostum.

Two days ago a group of 200 Taliban jointed peace process in Jawzjan after Dostum met the leaders and asked them to make peace with government.

Dostum said thousands of Taliban in the country’s North will join hands with government in coming twenty days.
