Second convoy of food left for Parachinar from Thal
Shiite News: The second caravan of food and drink has left for Kurram from Thal.
According to police sources, a second convoy has been dispatched to Kurram district. A convoy of 45 to 50 vehicles will reach Parachinar from Thal, carrying medicines, vegetables, fruits and other essential items.
Earlier, the sources said that 45 freight vehicles will be sent from Thal to Parachinar, containing food items, medicines, vegetables and fruits.
The district administration had informed in this regard that the caravan will be dispatched as soon as the road clearance is obtained.
On the other hand, according to tribal leader Haji Abid, all the markets, including food and medicine, have been closed and 40 trucks of goods are insufficient for millions of people. Equipment should be provided as per requirement.
Apart from this, the leader of Young Doctors Association said that medical stores and private hospitals have closed due to lack of medicines.
According to social leader Asadullah, hundreds of overseas visas and tickets have been lost due to road closures. Similarly, students have been absent from their institutions for 3 months.
He said that more than 50 passengers who died outside the area due to road closure have been buried in Hangu and other areas.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmed said that various measures are being taken to provide relief to the people, including opening the roads.
