Shiite News: A protest held outside the Lahore Press Club under the auspices of Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen and Imamia Students Organization Pakistan to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Parachinar, continued for the second day today. Ahle Sunnah leaders also participated in this protest and expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of Parachinar.

Prominent Ahle Sunnah leader and Chairman of the Qul Masalik Ulema Board Maulana Asim Makhdoom and Provincial President of the Interfaith Council Allama Qari Khalid Mahmood participated in the protest and supported the oppressed people of Parachinar.

Maulana Asim Makhdoom, while talking to “Islam Times”, said that the protection of the citizens of the country is the responsibility of the state, but unfortunately, citizens in Parachinar are unsafe.

He said that it is a complete failure of the provincial government that neither the roads could be opened nor action was taken against a handful of Takfiri elements. He further said that under an organized conspiracy, this fire is being ignited by making a tribal fight a religious issue.

Maulana Asim Makhdoom said that we demand from the KP government that the closed roads of Kurram should be opened immediately, the supply of medicines and food should be ensured, and the Grand Jirga should play its role for the establishment of peace.

He also said that the interference of foreign forces is seen in this matter which is not allowing this issue to be resolved.

MWM Pakistan Vice Chairman Allama Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi, Allama Hassan Raza Hamdani, Seth Adnan Ali, Amir Abbas Mirza, Syed Zohaib Hassan and Syed Saim Naqvi and other leaders were also present on the occasion.

Allama Hassan Raza Hamdani, while talking to “Islam Times”, said that as long as the sit-in of the oppressed in Parachinar continues, we will remain here in solidarity with them.

Addressing the government, he said that the demands of the oppressed in Parachinar should be fulfilled immediately.

Otherwise, protest sit-ins will start in all the small and big cities of the country and the entire country may come to a standstill. The rulers should be conscious and fulfill the public demands.
