All the affected students are between the ages of 12 and 14. The accused used to threaten the children with knives and make Z marks on their bodies.
The situation is so serious that a student in the North Cantt Lahore police station told the police that a Mufti Sahib, a resident of Lahore, has been sexually assaulting her for three years.
This is about a well known mufti. He was working as a teacher in Madrasah Manzoorul Islamia for the last 25 years. Along with this, he was also a member of Jamiat Ulema Islam from Lahore.
The student said that when he reached the fourth grade, during the exams, the then supervising Mufti accused him of cheating in the exams along with another student, and suspended him for three years for the exams of the federal schools.
The student further told the police that the Mufti told him that if “he makes him happy, I will also remove the ban from Madrasas and pass the exams.”
The student told the police that after that Mufti used to call him every Friday around 10 or 11 am and abuse him.
After being blackmailed for three years, the student, fed up, decided to inform the madrassa administration and filed a complaint against the Mufti.
The management of the seminary said that Mufti Sahib is an elderly and good man, he cannot do such an act.
According to the student, “in frustration, he started making videos of the incident himself.”
The student told the police that he also presented this evidence to Maulana Hafeez Jalandhri, the director of Al-Madaris al-Arabiya.
He also provided the police with the recording of some audio calls as evidence, which proved how Mufti repeatedly sexually assaulted him.
The purpose of explaining all this is that in our country, religious schools have a central position in the education of the society.
Be it extremism or sexual immorality, its roots are found only in some religious schools. Madrasahs inspire people.
