Shiite News: Parliamentary leader MWM and leader of the opposition Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Kazim Maisam has said in a statement that November 1, 1948 is a brave and bright chapter in the history of Gilgit-Baltistan.

He said that remembering the history of courage and bravery of our ancestors is the reason for the evolution of a nation.

Salutes to all the Mujahideen of Gilgit-Baltistan, who gained independence from the Dogaras and joined Pakistan on ideological grounds.

But these 75 years, the federal political parties rewarded the loyalties of Gilgit-Baltistan in the form of deprivation and disappointment.

Three generations have passed dreaming of becoming a part of the constitution of Pakistan, but the federal parties treated the region as a stepfather through sometimes FCR, sometimes LF and orders.

The federal governments have never been able to talk about giving any setup according to the aspirations of the people here.

The opposition leader added that in the past there were cases of treason against those celebrating November 1, now that the day is celebrated at the official level is commendable and an acknowledgment that the attitudes towards the people of the region have not been right.

He further said that the sentiments of the people here have been hurt by allegations of schedule four or treason.

The Constitution of Pakistan gives the right to raise voice for rights and fight for democracy. The demand for crossing the Kargil-Ladakh road is also associated with the enemy, while the crossing of the Wagah-Kashmir or other borders is considered patriotic.
