Skardu, Parliamentary Aman Committee members hold meeting with Anjuman Imamia

Shiite News: In light of the directives of Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan, a delegation of the Parliamentary Peace Committee headed by Gilgit-Baltistan Interior Minister Shams Lone visited Imamia Jamia Masjid Skardu and met with the delegation of Anjuman Imamia.

The delegation of Anjuman Imamiya participated in the meeting under the leadership of Imam Juma Wal Jamaat Allama Sheikh Muhammad Hasan Jafari.

The Minister of Interior and the members of the Parliamentary Aman Committee, the provincial ministers expressed their views and said that the establishment of peace in Gilgit-Baltistan is the first priority of the government. All Muslims have complete freedom to live according to their beliefs and perform worship.

He assured that the writ of the government is in place throughout the province and security forces have been deployed to make the Karakoram highway completely safe for travelers. The government guarantees the safety of passengers on the highway.

Allama Sheikh Muhammad Hasan Jafari said on this occasion that we freed the region from Dogra tyranny and annexed it to Pakistan.

We ourselves are the heirs of the martyrs and have been giving sacrifices for the security of the country. We maintained peace here even in difficult circumstances after the sectarian war in 1988, the tragedy of Chalas, the tragedy of Kohistan and the tragedy of Lulosar, and now, despite the recent tension, the people of other communities in Baltistan are living peacefully.

According to the teachings of our Mujtahids, Ahles-Sunnah are considered not only as brothers but also as their own souls, which has been expressed in the meeting of Ulama of Baltistan held on 21 August.

He said that we strongly condemn the harassment and negative propaganda on Indian media related to the protests in Skardu.

We have given sacrifices for our motherland Pakistan and will continue to give sacrifices. It was expressed the determination to play all possible cooperation and positive role for the establishment of peace as in the past.

Among the members of Anjuman Imamiya participating in the meeting are Allama Sheikh Muhammad Hassan Jafari, Agha Syed Ali Rizvi, Sheikh Fida Hassan Ebadi, Sheikh Zahid Hussain Zahedi, Sheikh Zulfiqar Ali Ansari, Syed Qamar Abbas Al Hussaini, Muhammad Hasan Hasrat, Wazir Hamid Hussain, Munshi Muhammad Yusuf Zahid Abbas Advocate were included.

While the Government Aman Committee included Interior Minister Shams Lone, Senior Minister Syed Amjad Zaidi, Senior Local Government Minister Haji Abdul Hameed, Finance Minister Engineer Muhammad Ismail, Agriculture Minister Engineer Muhammad Anwar, Food Minister Ghulam Muhammad, Law Minister Sohail Abbas.

Former Tourism Minister Raja Nasir Ali Khan, Member of Assembly Former Minister Ayub Waziri, Commissioner Baltistan Shuja Alam, Deputy Inspector General Police Baltistan Farrukh Rasheed, Deputy Commissioner Skardu Shahryar Shirazi, SSP Skardu Raja Mirza Hasan Khan were present.
