Opposition members submitted GB Transparency, RTI Act 2023

Shiite News: Under the leadership of opposition leader Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly and parliamentary leader Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Gilgit-Baltistan Muhammad Kazim Maisam, former finance minister Javed Ali Manwa and chairman of the Public Accounts Committee Ayub Waziri signed the Gilgit-Baltistan Transparency and Right to Information (RTI) Act 2023 and submitted to secretary assembly.

After the approval of this bill, it will be easier for the media and the public to get correct and authentic information along with the improvement of transparency, functionality, and efficiency in the government departments of Gilgit-Baltistan.

This act will be an external check and oversight tool on the performance of government and institutions.
The passage of the Right to Information Act will also address misinformation and negative propaganda.
