Two Shia Hazara policemen martyred in Quetta

Shiite News: Terrorists attacked an anti-polio team in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, two Shia Hazara police officers were martyred.

Unknown assailants opened fire on the security personnel of the polio team in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, as a result of which two policemen were martyred.

The police said that in Nawan Killi, a suburb of the provincial capital, the police personnel were fired upon when they were performing security duties in Shah Alam along with anti-polio teams. Both the martyred policemen belonged to the Shia Hazara community.

The martyred policemen have been identified as Shaheed Syed Mehdi and Shaheed Shaukat. Officials said that both the policemen were shot in the head, killing them on the spot and the accused fled after the incident.

On receiving the information, a heavy police force arrived, the bodies were shifted to the hospital, while the area was cordoned off and the search for the accused was started.

SSP Operations Captain (retd) Zohaib Mohsin confirmed the incident and said that the anti-polio team was inside the house at the time of the firing, which seems to indicate that the terrorists targeted the policemen. However, the incident is being investigated which will clarify the situation further.
