The tragedy of Therhi Khairpur on June 3, 1963, the worst in the history of Pakistan, when the Takfiri terrorists started systematic Shia genocide in the homeland for the first time, which continues till today in the form of Sipah Sahaba, Lashkar Jhangvi and ISIS.

On June 3, the ancient and traditional procession of Azadaran-e-Imam Hussain (AS) on Ashura was brought out, which reached Therhi through the fixed routes, the terrorists attacked the mourners from all sides with sticks, axes and swords. More than 118 believers were martyred while hundreds were injured.

On the day of Ashura, 118 mourners who were engaged in the procession were crushed by buffaloes in the closed street, their bodies were stabbed with sharp axes and thrown into the canal.

Unfortunately, due to lack of media facilities and state bias, this incident could not get timely attention of the nation.

Takfiri terrorists involved in the Therhi tragedy have been settled and residing in that area but holding of this procession has been banned till date.

Today, 60 years have passed since this tragedy in Therhi , the memory of these martyrs still remains in the Ganj-e-Shohada in Khairpur, while the names and traces of the Yazid terrorists who attacked have been wiped off from history.
