Controversial Sahaba bill, MWM delegation meets Senator Taj Haider
Shiite News: A high-level delegation headed by Vice Chairman Majlis Wahdat Muslimin Pakistan Allama Syed Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi met with Senator Taj Haider, Chairman of Senate Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, informed about the concerns of the nation of Pakistan regarding the controversial amendment bill 2021.
In the meeting, Vice Chairman MWM Allama Syed Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi said that this controversial bill will lead to communal chaos in the country.
There has been serious apprehension of spoiling the overall atmosphere of the country, so it is requested that the members of both the Houses should first take all the matters into cognizance of the legislation to be passed through this Bill.
He further said that it would have been more beneficial for the country if the controversial amendment bill had been amended to block its misuse, even though it has been amended to increase the penalties.
It is equivalent to paving the way for the misuse of this bill, which does not specify the clear definition and limits of blasphemy and sahabi.
In the conversation, there was also a discussion about the role of Millat Jafaria in the country for unity, which was appreciated by Senator Taj Haider and assured of his full cooperation and role in this regard.
The delegation also delivered a special letter from Chairman Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Pakistan Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari to Senator Taj Haider regarding the Criminal Amendment Bill.
The delegation included Central President of Majlis Ulema Shia Pakistan Allama Syed Hasnain Abbas Gardezi, Central General Secretary of Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Pakistan Syed Nasir Abbas Shirazi Advocate and Central Secretary Political Syed Asad Abbas Naqvi.
