Steering committee constituted for abolition of usury has no Shiite representation

Shiite News: The government has established a steering committee for the abolition of interest and implementation of the decision of the Federal Sharia Court for Islamic banking has no member from the Shiite school of thought.

According to the announcement issued by the Ministry of Finance, the steering committee will be patronized by Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, the chairman of the steering committee will be the governor of State Bank.

According to the Ministry of Finance, Secretary Finance, Chairman SECP, Chairman Pakistan Banks Association, Deputy Governor State Bank will also be members of the committee.

According to the Ministry of Finance, Maulana Mufti Taqi Usmani, Mufti Irshad Ahmad Ejaz, Mansoor ul Rahman will also be members of the steering committee.

Apart from this, Ashfaq Tola, Khozem A Haidermota, former Governor State Bank Saeed Ahmed will be the members of the committee.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the steering committee will provide guidance in legal and regulatory reforms, the committee will provide guidance in the steps required to implement the decision of the Federal Sharia Court.

The executive director of the State Bank will be the secretary of the Islamic Banking Steering Committee. It should be noted that no competent Shiite representative was included among the ministers, experts and scholars.
