Shiite News: The meeting of Cabinet Committee on Legislative Affairs of Punjab was held in Lahore under the chairmanship of Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Raja Basharat.
Law Minister Khurram Shehzad Virk, SMBR Zahid Akhtar Zaman and others participated in the meeting. In the meeting, approval was given in principle to amend University of Education Lahore Ordinance, while it was also approved to issue a notification for the establishment of Shelter Authority Punjab.
In the meeting, elected representatives were nominated as members for the Punjab Power Development Board.
The names of MPAs Ghazeen Abbasi, Raja Yawar Kamal, Sadia Sohail and Saira Raza have been included in the representatives.
Chairman P&D or representative for government energy companies were nominated as members while legislation was approved for Punjab Energy Efficiency and Conservation Agency.
The appointment of Ghalib Ali Bandisha as a member of the Review Board Social Welfare was also approved while the rules for compulsory teaching of Quran in schools 2021 were approved. Muslim students will be taught Tajweed along with recitation.
Punjab Textbook and Supplementary Learning Material Policy was also approved in the meeting. While framing the rules and regulations of the Children’s Library Complex, the establishment of 8 National Parks under the Punjab Protected Areas Act was also approved.
Raja Basharat directed the demarcation of forest land adjacent to residential colonies while the reorganization of the Board of Directors of Punjab Cooperative Bank was also approved.
The Cabinet Committee expressed satisfaction over the performance of the President of the Cooperative Bank and termed it commendable.
In the meeting, it was also decided to allot flats to the heirs of the martyred workers in Wah Factory bombing.
