Shiite News: Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Gilgit-Baltistan President Syed Ali Rizvi has said that Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen (MWM) has been representing the oppressed classes without discrimination since its establishment.

We will not retreat even an inch from this motto of our organisation. In whatever corner of the world there is oppression, Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen will continue to play its role.

Our struggle will continue until the people of Gilgit-Baltistan get their basic rights. These views were expressed by Majlis Wahdat Muslims Gilgit-Baltistan President during the Provincial Shura meeting at Wahdat House Gilgit.

He said that Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen is not only a political party but the main goal of this party is to give the oppressed their basic rights.

He said that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan are zealous and determined to get their rights. In view of the sensitivity of this region, the rulers should avoid denying the rights of the people and redress the decades of deprivation.

He said that interference in educational institutions of GB will not be tolerated and our new generation who are equipped with higher education should be given opportunities in educational institutions according to their ability.

In the meeting Sheikh Nair Abbas Mustafavi, GB Council member Sheikh Ahmed Noori, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Mohammad Ilyas Siddiqui, GB Assembly Member Sheikh Akbar Ali Rajai, besides the Gilgit-Baltistan Ulemas and Provincial and district officials participated.

In the meeting, the election of the provincial officials of Majlis Wahdat Muslimin Gilgit-Baltistan was also held and the members of the Shura approved the nominated members of the provincial cabinet by the majority vote, who were sworn in by the provincial president Allama Agha Syed Ali Rizvi.
