Sit-in against controversial VC of Baltistan University has started once again

Shiite News: A sit-in has started in Skardu against the highly controversial VC of Baltistan University.

The sit-in outside the Jamia-Baltistan Inchin campus was attended by provincial President Agha Syed Ali Rizvi, president of MWM Skardu Sheikh Zeeshan, student body, youth action committee, Tehreek Pasdaran Skardu and other people from various walks of life.

The VC of Jamia Baltistan, Dr. Naeem, has arrived in Skardu two days ago, before that there was a strong protest against him throughout Baltistan, after which the local administration banned Dr. Naeem from entering Skardu, as a result of which Dr. Naeem remained out of the university, but last month the local court suspended the administrative order banning the entry of VC into Skardu.

Two days ago, when Dr. Naeem reached Skardu, the protest started again. It should be remembered that the tenure of the Vice Chancellor of Baltistan University, Dr. Naeem, had ended last year, but later, after a controversial decision of the University Senate, he was retained as the Acting Vice Chancellor for an indefinite period.

Serious allegations of corruption and mismanagement were also made against Dr. Naeem. A detailed report by the Auditor General of Pakistan exposed serious mismanagement and corruption in Jamia Baltistan. There was also a strike across Baltistan against the alleged corruption and nepotism in the university.
