Syed Ahmed Rizvi again elected as President Jamia Rohaniyat Baltistan

Shiite News: According to the head of the Election Commission, Hujjatul Islam Sheikh Raza Nasri, there were 04 candidates for the presidential slot, one of which withdrew before the election, as a result of which, Hujjatul Islam Syed Ahmed Rizvi, Hujjatul Islam Ghulam Haider Sharifi and Hujjatul Islam Muhammad Hussain Sabri contested.

However, Hujjatul Islam Syed Ahmad Rizvi was once again elected as the President of Jamia Rohaniyat Baltistan for two years with 347 votes.

The elections of the president and members of Jamia Rohaniyat Baltistan were held on Thursday, October 13, from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm in Imambargah Baltistan, Qom, in which 90 percent of the scholars and students of Baltistan participated and cast their votes.

A total of 47 candidates took part for Majlis-e-Amila Jamia Rohaniyat, out of which 25 people were elected as members of Jamia Rohaniyat for two years.

In the election results ceremony, Election Commission Chairman Hujjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Raza Nasri, current president Hujjat-ul-Islam Muhammad Hussain Haidari and elected president Hujjat-ul-Islam Syed Ahmad Rizvi thanked all the scholars and students of Baltistan studying in Qom.

It should be noted that according to the constitution of Jamia Rohaniyat, the President has full powers of executive functions, while the Majlis-e-Amila oversees the performance of the President and his cabinet and prepares long-term plans and the power to pass laws rests with the members of the Majlis.

It should be noted that Jamia Rohaniyat Baltistan is an organization of students from Baltistan, which is engaged in welfare and educational activities in Pakistan.
