Shiite News: Central Secretary General of Shia Ulema Council (SUC) of Pakistan, Allama Shabbir Hasan Maisami, has said that opening the Iraq border for Pakistani pilgrims is a good move and in this regard, the efforts of all authorities, including Iraqi, Iranian and Pakistani authorities, are worthy of praise.

These views were expressed by the central secretary general of the Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan, Allama Dr. Shabbir Hasan Masami, while addressing a press conference at the National Press Club, Islamabad.

On this occasion, he was accompanied by Zahid Ali Akhunzada, Central Information Secretary of Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan, and other leaders Maulana Syed Wazir Hussain Kazmi, Syed Muhammad Ali Kazmi, Head of Muharram Committee Islamabad and former District President Nayyar Abbas Baloch of Shia Ulema Council were present.

Allama Shabbir Hasan Maisami said that due to the closure of the Iraqi border for Pakistani pilgrims by the Iraqi government, the pilgrims were in trouble, which has been resolved as a result of continuous contacts, high-level meetings and struggle, which is praise worthy.

We are grateful to those friends and people who played a positive role in solving this important and sensitive issue.

Through this press conference, we pay tribute to the efforts of all authorities, including the authorities of Iraq, Iran and Pakistan.

While he appreciated the role played by Federal Ministers Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Ayaz Sadiq, Rana Sanaullah and Atta Tarar in solving the problem of pilgrims.

He said that a permanent solution to the issue of pilgrims is inevitable, but depriving the poor people of the holy pilgrimage by blocking land routes will be tantamount to injustice.

He further said that this year, while expressing strong reservations on the registration of FIRs against the organizers and mourners of Majlis and processions across the country, he termed these actions as an open violation of the Constitution, law and fundamental rights and civil liberties.

He demanded that all the FIRs registered against Majalis and processions should be quashed.

Placing obstacles in Arbaeen processions and gatherings is against basic human and civil rights, so we want to make it clear that no kind of abuse will be tolerated on Azadari of Sayyed al-Shohada Imam Hussain A.S.
