Iranian aid for flood victims reaches Pakistan

Shiite News: The first batch of humanitarian aid from brotherly country Iran for the flood victims of Pakistan was handed over to the Pakistani authorities.

According to IRNA News, Iran delivered its first shipment of humanitarian aid to Pakistan by land and handed it over to Pakistan Red Crescent officials at the Gabd-Rimdan border crossing.

This relief package has been sent to the people of Balochistan where floods have caused widespread destruction.
The shipment of humanitarian aid from Iran has arrived at the joint border crossing of Iran “Gabd-Rimdan” to provide relief to the flood victims of Pakistan, especially Balochistan province. The consignment was handed over to Pakistan Red Crescent authorities.

The consignment includes 1000 tents, 2000 carpets and 4000 blankets.

On this occasion, the Iranian delegation also handed over a condolence message to the Pakistani officials on behalf of the Iranian government and people.

Secretary General of Pakistan Red Crescent Ayub Khan said that the shipment sent by Iran contains tents, blankets and other essential resources which will be distributed among the victims in different areas of Balochistan province.

Last Saturday, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Shahbaz Sharif informed President of Iran Syed Ibrahim Raisi on the telephone about the flood situation in his country.
On this occasion, the President of Iran assured all possible assistance to the flood victims, on which the Prime Minister of Pakistan appreciated Iran’s long-standing sympathetic attitude.

The terrible floods in Pakistan have so far claimed the lives of 1150 people while thousands of others have been injured.

According to official data, more than three million Pakistani citizens have been badly affected by the floods, while millions of houses have been destroyed.
