Govt should pay attention to homeless people instead of politics, says Baqir Abbas Zaidi
Shiite News: President of Majlis Wahdat Muslim Sindh, Allama Baqir Abbas Zaidi, while talking to the media on the occasion of his visit to the flood-affected areas of Sindh, said that due to floods in Balochistan, Sindh, South Punjab, crops standing on thousands of acres of land have been destroyed and millions of people are homeless.
The loss of homes and precious lives is regrettable, the government should pay attention to the homeless instead of politics.
He said that the government should speed up the relief work in the flooded areas in Sindh, Balochistan and South Punjab.
It is the primary responsibility of the state to provide the necessities of life to millions of people affected by this sudden disaster.
All state institutions, including international human rights organizations and compassionate philanthropists, should leave no stone unturned in helping and rehabilitating the homeless in this difficult time.
He said that in developed countries, early preventive measures are taken to deal with sudden disasters so that the rate of damage is at a minimum level.
Millions of people are forced to live below the poverty line due to the ravages of floods. In the affected areas, calamities such as epidemics and malnutrition have invaded every second house.
Hundreds of people die due to government negligence, in areas where there is a risk of flooding, preventive measures should be taken in advance and necessary constructions should be made to normalize the flow of water.
He said that by going with the flood victims, their sufferings cannot be cured by a mere photo session, but regular planning is very necessary to prevent these sudden disasters.
