Missing Shia journalist Zahid Abbas Malik reaches home safely
Shiite News: Zahid Abbas Malik, Senior Journalist and Sub-Editor of Daily Dunya Lahore, was released from Sargodha Jail.
Zahid Abbas Malik was abducted from his flat in Ichhra area of Lahore three months ago. Zahid Abbas Malik belongs to Sargodha and he resides in Lahore for work and is associated with Daily Dunya.
On the disappearance of Zahid Malik, a protest was also held under the auspices of the Lahore Press Club, in which the journalist community demanded that Zahid Malik be released immediately, and if there is any charge against him, he should be presented in court.
The journalist community expressed deep concern over the disappearance of Zahid Malik. Later, the CTD revealed his arrest, on which the family approached the court.
Zahid Malik’s brother Amir Raza told “Islam Times” that his brother Zahid Malik has been living in Lahore for the past thirty years and has been working in several journalistic organizations and is now associated with Dunya daily.
According to Amir Raza, CTD tried to harass Zahid Malik by making baseless allegations. Aamir Raza said that Zahid Malik was arrested in Lahore while CTD showed his arrest from Mianwali and alleged that he was fundraising for the banned Jamaat.
Amir Raza said that on the same basis, the court has approved the bail of Zahid Abbas Malik and ordered his release. Zahid Abbas Malik was released from Sargodha Jail today after receiving a notice from the court.
