KPL matches during Muharram unacceptable, says Allama Jawadi

Shiite News: Allama Syed Tasawar Hussain Naqvi Al-Jawadi, member of Ulama and Mashaikh Council of Azad Kashmir and central leader of Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen, has said that the organizing the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) matches during the holy month of Muharram ul Harram not appropriate.

KPL matches like last year, this year too, being held in Muharram causing destruction of the sanctity of Muharram. As the heavy use of music during the matches is insult and humiliation of the days martyrdom of Imam Hussain and his companions.

Allama Tasawar Jawadi added that during these matches, there is a curfew like situation around the cricket stadium and big hotels in the city, which makes it difficult for the mourners to attend the majlis, especially the women’s majlis which are held during the day.

He requested the Government of Azad Kashmir, Chief Secretary, Ministry of Sports and Administration to organize the proposed tournament of KPL on the dates after 10th of Muharram so that all people can enjoy watching the match and the tournament could be successful.
