MWM leader lashes out govt over rain disaster mismanagement
Shiite News: Arbab Liaqat Ali Hazara, Leader of Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen Quetta City, on Tuesday lashed out at the government over its poor performance and failure in meeting the challenge of the monsoon rains.
While talking to party workers on the occasion of Eid Millan party, he said Government failed to deal the disastrous situation, there was no timely preparation for dealing with natural calamities and no action timely taken after the incident is the worst example of management.
He said that Monsoon rains have wreaked havoc in many parts of Balochistan, if it was not possible to compensate the casualties, government should take legal action against the contractors who used faulty materials in government contracts.
He said that if the rain gutters had been cleaned before the rains, the people of any city would not have faced any hardship. Premature rupture of dams, blockage of drains and cracks in newly constructed roads after rains are the result of mismanagement.
He said that it was the responsibility of the government of the day to deal with such natural calamities through early warning campaigns and redressal of losses.
He demanded the administration and the government to compensate the victims of the recent rains in Balochistan and eliminate encroachments.
