Explosion in Peshawar’s Kocha Risaldar, at least 20 injured: Rescue 1122

An explosion took place in Peshawar’s Kocha Risaldar on Friday, injuring at least 20 people, according to Rescue 1122 officials.

The injured have been moved to the Lady Reading Hospital, said the officials, adding currently 15 ambulances were on the site.

Witnesses said the incident took place close to a mosque and that gunfire could be heard prior to the explosion. Officials have yet to confirm the nature of the explosion.

Police teams have reached the site of the explosion. The area has a number of markets and is usually packed around the time of Friday prayers, said locals.
