Shiite News: Secretary General of Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslimeen Punjab Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi announced a symbolic protest outside the office of the Mahakma-e-Auqaf Punjab on Monday, June 21, along with scholars of Lahore. He said that all civilized, constitutional and legal approaches have been used and from ministers to responsible bureaucrats of government have been checked but remained fail to take any concrete steps except lip services. All those in charge support our position but are unable to take positive action. He expressed these views while meeting a delegation of religious scholars on June 21 to organize a protest outside the Mahakma-e-Auqaf.
Briefing Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi, the organizing committee of the protest said that contacts with all the Ulema of Lahore have been completed. Dozens of Ulema will participate in the symbolic demonstration. Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi said that the people of Jaffaria Community are being discriminated continuously which is intolerable.
He said that whether it is peace committees including Muttahida Ulema Board or other institutions, Shian-e-Haider-e-Karar are constantly being ignored. We will continue to protest in the Muttahida Ulema Board until the Shia clerics are represented on an equal numbers with the clerics of other sects. He said that after the symbolic protest of the clerics, a public symbolic protest will also be held on June 25.
He said that if our legitimate demands were not met then we would be compelled to call the workers from all over Punjab to Lahore. He added that the builders of Pakistan were also Shia and they have a key role to play in saving Pakistan. Despite this, we are being discriminated. He further said that we have also been the victims of terrorism. Despite this, preference is being given to takfiris which is not acceptable in any case.
