MWM candidate Kazim Maisam wins election to become MLA Gilgit Baltistan, while allied party PTI emerged as the single largest party in the GB legislative assembly election.
Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen nominated Kazim Maisam to contest election from GBLA-8 Skardu.

He defeated main rival belonging to the PPP, while bagging over 7500 votes.
The MWM fielded 3 candidates to contest Gilgit Baltistan election 2020 and supported PTI’s contestants on other constituencies under electoral adjustments on other constituencies.
According to unofficial results, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf is leading Gilgit Baltistan elections with nine seats.
The Independents got second position with seven seats, while the PPP secured third position with three seats.
However, the former ruling party of Gilgit Baltistan, PML-N has so far secured two seats in the polls.
MWM-PTI understanding
Allama Raja Nasir-led MWM had formed electoral adjustments, sort of alliance with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Ittehad on the condition regarding Constitutional status to Gilgit Baltistan.
Hence, MWM claims credit for it when Prime Minister Imran’s announced to grant Gilgit Baltistan provincial status.
Imran Khan made announcement, while addressing the attendees and participants of the Azadi Parade held to mark the 73rd Independence Day of Gilgit Baltistan.
He congratulated people of GB on the PTI government’s decision to give GB provincial status.
