Shia Islamic leadership asks PM, COAS to take merciless action against takfiris (those who call Shia Muslims and other Muslims
Renowned Shia Islamic clerics, scholars, speakers and notables participated in the Imamia Ulema and Zakireen convention in Karachi.
They represented various organisations, including Organisation of Shia Islamic Mosques and Ulema, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, Shia Ulema Council, Zakireen Federation, Imamia Organisation and Imamia Students Organisation.
The Shia Islamic convention adopted 15 resolutions. It condemned blasphemous caricature of French magazine Charlie Hebdo and desecration of Holy Quran in Sweden.
Later, renowned Shia Islamic scholar Allama Syed Shahenshah Hussain Naqvi, Allama Baqir Zaidi, Allama Shabbir Maisami, Allama Mohammad Hussain Raeesi, Allama Sadiq Raza Taqvi and other scholar addressed a press conference to brief the media on the decisions and resolutions of the convention.
They made it clear that Constitution of Pakistan recognizes and guarantees equal rights to all Pakistani citizens. They said all masalik have religious and social freedom and nobody can usurp these rights.
However, Shia Islamic leadership made it clear that Shia Muslims would not tolerate anyone to impose their interpretation of Islam, Quran and Sunnah upon Shia Muslims.
They said that U.S., India, Israel and their Arab allies want to destabilize Pakistan and they detest China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Due to this target, they plotted sectarianism in Pakistan but we Pakistanis would foil their nefarious designs.
They expressed concern over visits and meetings of ambassador of an Arab country with seminaries, clerics and government authorities and subsequent sabotage of intra-Pakistanis harmony.
They also condemned Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and illegitimate Israeli occupation and brutalities in occupied Jerusalem and other areas of Palestine.
They asked the establishment, including Pakistan government, Prime Minister and Army Chief and other concerned authorities to take merciless action against takfiris (those who call Shia Muslims and other Muslims as kafirs).
Ulema wa Zakireen-e-Imamia Convention drew their attention to malicious and provocative hate campaign against Shia Muslims which continue unabated. They lamented that takfiri hatemongering fanatics remain free.
They said takfiris have also threatened genocide against Shia Muslims and also publicly have said Shia Muslims as infidel or heathen. Hence, Shia leaders demanded capital punishment to them.
They expressed concern over visits and meetings of ambassador of an Arab country with seminaries, clerics and government authorities and subsequent sabotage of intra-Pakistanis harmony.
Furthermore, they demanded the government must withdraw and nullify the false cases against Shia Muslim mourners and notables and release them, immediately. They urged the government to stop witch-hunt against Shia Muslims.
They asked the government to take action against culprits and also who publicly have said Shia Muslims as infidel or heathen.
Moreover, they recalled Allama Arif Hussaini’s statement and reiterated their pledge to observe azadari (mourning) for Imam Hussain (AS) come what may because it is jugular vein of Shia Muslims.
They vowed they would never compromise over azadari and continue it. They said enemies could behead Shia Muslim azadars (mourners) but they cannot stop azadari of the Great Leader of Martyrs Imam Hussain.
They also spoke on Defence and Martyrs Day of Pakistan and paid homage to over 70,000 martyred Pakistanis who embraced martyrdoms for the sake of motherland Pakistan.
