Pakistan begins search for Tableeghi Jamaat 41000 members for COVID-19 after having found many infected with the Coronavirus.

The authorities concerned are trying to track down some 41,000 people who attended Deobandi preaching congregation or Tableeghi Ijtima in Raiwind (Lahore).

Later, they scattered across the country.

Of the thousands who attended the Tableeghi Jamaat’s annual Deobandi congregation in Lahore’s Raiwind area, several later tested positive for coronavirus.

The entire nation remains under threat because of percentage of positive test reports of Deobandi preaching party’s members.

On the other hand, a senior official from the National Command and Control Center (NCOC) told the media that 41 people at the Tableeghi Markaz (Preaching Centre) in Lahore alone have tested positive till now.

However, the official wished not be identified by name and designation due to irrational approach of Deobandi school of thought regarding the deadly virus.

But some Deobandi clerics also support government’s precautionary measures.

Moreover, the official said they fear that nearly 10,000 more people in 60 cities may also have symptoms.

To trace the men, 5,200 teams — each comprising eight members — have spread across the country to comb through mosques.

4,500 foreigners from 26 countries

Around 4,500 foreigners from 26 countries also attended the congregation.

Officials disclosed that 70 percent of these foreigners have already returned to their countries.

Despite warnings from the Punjab government to call it off in the wake of the pandemic, Tableeghi Jamaat held its annual congregation on March 10, 11 and 12.

Only divine intervention compelled them to wrap it up when downpour made it impossible to continue the Deobandis preaching congregation.

However, they didn’t return homes but they dispersed across the country to preach, although their colleagues had transmitted them the deadly Coronavirus.

Due to their illogical, inhuman and un-Islamic approach, they had clashed with the police instead of cooperating with them to save their own lives, let alone the compatriots.

Plus, they also took foreigners with them for this preaching mission. Now, if foreigners die of Coronavirus in Pakistan or return their countries with Coronavirus, it will defame Pakistan.

Earlier, Deobandi Tableeghi Jamaat member stabbed SHO in bid to flee quarantine centre.

Around 100 Tableeghi Jamaat clerics including foreigners found in Sukkur although Pakistan is witnessing lockdown to prevent Coronavirus spread.

Deobandi Tableeghi Jamaat or preaching party has violated lockdown and also defied precautionary measures.
