IHC allows police to ensure recovery of Yafis Naveed Hashmi until February 25.
Islamabad High Court gave until February 25, 2020 to the police officers on their request.
The court resumed its hearing of the case of missing lawyer Syed Yafis Naveed Hashmi.

The IHC single bench comprising its Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the petition for recovery of Muhammad Yafis Naveed on Friday.
Superintendent of Police appeared and sought more time.
One SP said that they had contacted security agencies but all efforts went in vain.
However, teh authorities concerned have admitted custody of Col. Inamur Rahim (retd). He has been defending the misssing persons case.
On January 14, Islamabad High Court (IHC) had deferred hearing of the petition of High Court Bar Association (HCBA) Multan seeking recovery of a missing lawyer namely Muhammad Yafis Naveed. And resumed hearing on Friday January 31.
During the last hearing, Justice Athar Minallah inquired from the SHO if he has read the court’s verdict in a similar matter.
He had reminded him that the court wrote on July 11, 2018 that “enforced disappearance is one of the most cruel and inhuman acts and categorized as a crime against humanity.”
In the said judgment, Justice Minallah had maintained that the act of enforced disappearance may also attract provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997. He noted that for the first time in Pakistan’s history penalized a retired general and several civilian officials in the case of a missing person.
Yafis Naveed Hashmi case
Senior Shia lawyer from Multan has been taken into undeclared and illegal custody in Islamabad.
Notably, senior shia lawyer Yafis Naveed Hashmi has gone to a private hospital along with his family in Islamabad.
Although family went inside and he drove his car for parking and in between the cops took into undeclared custody for unknown reasons.
