Pakistan offers security cooperation to Iraq as Al Araji meets COAS Bajwa

Pakistan offered security cooperation to Iraq when acting Defence Secretary of Iraq Lt Gen (Staff) Pilot Muhammad Salim Al Araji, called on Pak Army chief.
Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa made this offer to the visiting Iraqi official in their meeting at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

According to the ISPR, they discussed matters of professional interest and regional security in the said meeting.

Most importantly, Pakistan Army chief said that Pakistan values its brotherly relations with Iraq.
Also, he added that Pakistan would be honoured to provide any assistance in development or security related fields.

Noteworthy to cite that the defence secretary had a day earlier renewed Pakistan’s offer to train Iraq’s armed forces.

Furthermore, he had also offered to augment bilateral defence cooperation.

Moreover, another relevant citation had it Pakistan’s Chairman Joint Chifes of Staff Committee also has visited Iraq.

There he also visited the holy shrine of Imam Ali in Najaf.
