Pakistan considers US pressure on Iran as unjustified. It was the message that Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif got in his Friday meetings in Islamabad.
During his visit, Iranian Foreign Minister called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
Also, he led Iranian team in bilateral talks with Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi. He also called on Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser.
In his talks, Mr Zarif shared Iranian perspective on evolving crisis in the Persian Gulf. He visited in the wake of US deployment of USS Abraham Lincoln, other destroyers and strikers.
Most importantly, US has also brought B-52 bombers at an airbase in Qatar and F-15 jets. The US has announced to station thousands of soldiers in the region.
“Pakistan understands our position … and considers US pressure on Iran as unjustified,” Javad Zarif said at the conclusion of his two-day visit.
