Court acquits Faisal Raza Abidi in a case of insulting former Chief Justice. An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad acquitted former senator Abidi yesterday.

Judge Shahrukh Arjumand after hearing arguments acquitted the ex-PPP senator Faisal Raza Abidi and two co-accused, H Masroor and Ahsan Saleem .
Noteworthy to mention: The court had issued contempt notice that led to former PPP Senator Faisal Raza Abidi arrest.
According to charges, Abidi had allegedly used derogatory and inappropriate language against former chief justice Mian Saqib Nisar during an interview at a local web channel.
Finally, that led to his arrest from the apex court premises in December last year.
His release from Adiala jail came after a three-member bench of the top court accepted his unconditional apology and discharged a contempt notice.
Anti-Terrorism Court acquits
However, the proceeding in the ATC against Abidi had remained unaffected. Finally, the ATC yesterday acquitted him.
