Birth anniversary of Hazrat Abbas Alamdar being celebrated worldwide

Shia Muslims are celebrating birth anniversary of Hazrat Abbas Alamdar, the flag-bearing commander of Imam Hussain-led resistance of 72-strong in Karbala, on 4th Shaaban across the world, including Pakistan with religious reverence and enthusiasm.

Hazrat Abbas, brother of Imam Hassan and Imam Hussain, is also known as Qamar Bani Hashim, Ghazi and Alamdar and he is adored very much.
The birth anniversary celebrations began since Tuesday sunset and continue today in Pakistan.
Shia majority areas are wearing a bride look since last night. Mosques, Imam Bargahs, streets and houses are illuminated and decorated beautifully.
Shia Muslims wear new cloths and use perfumes to express their pleasure and also distribute Eidi among children.
Special prayers are being held alongside congregations where sacred life of Imam Hussain is being narrated in prose and poetry. Poets recite poems to pay tributes to Hazrat Abbas (AS) . Religious speakers are highlighting various aspects of sacred life of Hazrat Abbas (AS).
