US Ambassador John Bass understand neither cricket nor diplomacy: Asad Umar

Pakistan’s Finance Minister Asad Umar has raised questions over the diplomatic skills of John R Bass, the US ambassador to Afghanistan. US official’s insulting remarks evoked Pakistan-wide anger as Pakistan also formally lodged protest with the US diplomatic mission in Islamabad.

Retorting to the diplomat’s ridiculous remarks against Prime Minister Imran Khan, Minister Asad Umar said: “Your tweet shows you understand neither cricket nor diplomacy.”
He further said that “With the Afghan peace process at such a critical juncture, hope the US will be able to find better diplomatic skills to deal with the delicate issues at hand.”
Minister of Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi also disapproved Bass remarks saying that he would never make the list of “good ambassadors of the US with that attitude.”
