Pakistan’s former defence secretary says US involved in Zahedan attack
Former Pakistani defense secretary Naeem Khalid Lodhi in his article Hidden US Game has said that the US was involved in the terrorist attack in Iran and still supported its perpetrator and this covert operation was aimed at creating tension between Iran and Pakistan.
In an article entitled “the Hidden US Game,” published in the Urdu-language newspaper “Dunya (the World)”, former Pakistani defense secretary Naeem Khalid Lodhi wrote, “I think the US supports the perpetrators of the Zahedan terrorist attack.” The former Pakistani military official, who is a fellow at Islamabad-based research center (CSCR), said the Zahedan attack was undoubtedly a covert operation aimed at creating tension between Tehran and Islamabad.
According to Lodhi, Washington has long been seeking to destabilize Pakistan, but when it failed to reach that goal it sought to destabilize the whole region in order to deflect the international community’s attention from its withdrawal from Afghanistan.
