Pak Army hero Maqbool Hussain who remained war prisoner for 40 years dies
The 1965 war veteran and national hero Sepoy Maqbool Hussain breathed his last at Combined Military Hospital in Attock on Tuesday, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The funeral prayers of the deceased soldier being held with full military honours today on Wednesday.
Sepoy Maqbool Hussain of Azad Kashmir Regiment got injured during the 1965 war and was taken prisoner by the Indian Army. After languishing in Indian jails for 40 years, Maqbool Hussain was released in 2005. He was awarded Sitara-e-Jurrat for his gallantry services.
The army chief has expressed grief on the demise of the veteran soldier, ISPR added.
