Shia notable being tortured in police custody despite acquittal in false case

Shia notable Khuwaja Mohammad Ali is being tortured by police in Rawalpindi, his wife told the Shiite News on Saturday.

“Khuwaja Mohammad Ali was taken into custody by Rawalpindi police without any reason. He has been under police custody and the police is trying to implicate him in false cases,” his wife said talking to the Shiite News correspondent.

She said that in the past, police tried to implicate him Azam Tariq murder case and the Court acquitted him in 2007 in that case.

She demanded that his husband should be either released forthwith or should be produced before the court. Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen’s legal-aid wing is providing legal aid to the detained leader.
