2 Yazidi takfiri Taliban terrorists killed in encounter with Karachi Police
2 notorious terrorists of banned Yazidi takfiri nasbi terrorist outfit Taliban were killed in encounters with the police in Karachi. Among them, one was commander of his group.
The TTP militant commander Jamshed Ali belonging to Swat was killed in a shootout with the Manghopir police in Kunwari Colony. Around 16 suspects were also arrested on suspicions of having links with Taliban. The police launched a search operation in Kunwari Colony following the killing of three policemen earlier on Tuesday.
Notorious Jamshed was wanted for the killing of Frontier Constabulary men in Swat and also the killings of police personnel in Karachi, said Orangi Town SP Sajid Sadozai. He said Jamshed used to work as commander for the outlawed TTP in Swat but he fled the area after the army launched an operation there. One Kalashnikov was found on him, he added. The police also detained 16 persons from the locality for questioning.
Encounters
A TTP militant was killed in encounter with police and Rangers in the city. The Taliban militant Merajuddin alias Hafiz, 30, was killed in a joint police-Rangers raid in the Musharraf Colony area of Hawkesbay. Keamari SP Zafar Ali Shah said the police and Rangers conducted an operation on a tip-off about the presence of militants in the area.
A Kalashnikov, two hand-grenades and two rifle-grenades were recovered from his possession. The operation was underway in the area till the filing of this report.
