Protest-martyr-Shaukat-Shirazi19-05-2014Shia Muslims staged a sit-in at Numaish Chowrangi to protest against the targeted assassination of Shaukat Shirazi, an official of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen’s political wing on Monday.

The supporters of the MWM gathered at M.A. Jinnah Road near Numaish Chowrangi after the namaz-e-janaza of martyr Shaukat Shirazi. MWM officials Ali Hussain Naqvi, Maulana Ali Anwar, Maulana Mohammad Hussaini Karimi, Allama Mubashir Hassan, Allama Hassan Asadi, Asif Safavi, Nasir Hussaini, Haider Zaidi and other eminent figures attended the namaz-e-janaza and sit-in.

Speaking to the protestors including women, children and youths, Ali Hussain Naqvi, secretary of the MWM Karachi’s political wing, said that continued genocide against Shia Muslims was an undeniable fact that the ruling elites failed in protection of lives and properties of people.

“We reiterate our legitimate demand that Sindh Governor and Chief Minister be replaced with competent and qualified eligible persons so that the newcomers could be given a chance to shoulder their responsibilities,” he urged.

He warned that protest might continue indefinitely if the government failed to punish the Yazidi takfiri nasbi terrorists of banned Yazidi takfiri nasbi terrorist outfits.

The MWM officials condemned the targeted murders of Mr. Shirazi in Mithadar, Agha Mohsin in Liaqutabad and Sajjad Hussain near Ayesha Manzil.  Martyr Shirazi was laid to rest in Bagh-e-Murtaza graveyard. Namaz-e-janaza of Agha Mohsin was being held at Imam Bargah Shah-e-Karbala Rizvia and Sajjad Hussain at Mehfil-e-Murtaza.
