SaeedUlHasnain-MWM-G-BaltistanA Shia leader of Gilgit-Baltistan warned of dire consequences for those who are plotting to give natural resources of this Shia majority province under the control of non-locals and companies.

Saeed ul Hasnain, a spokesman for Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) has warned that Baluchistan-like crisis could spark-off if the non-locals are preferred to the locals in state of affairs of Gilgit-Baltistan.

He said reports had it that the opportunists were out to impose anti-locals laws through KANA Division and their latest attempt was being made through Gilgit-Baltistan Council. He maintained that people of Gilgit-Baltistan rejected those laws as anti-Gilgit-Baltistan.

“People of Gilgit-Baltistan are legitimate owners of the natural resources of their land. No outsider will be allowed to exploit our natural resources. Government should beware of the consequences because their anti-locals policies could ignite Baluchistan-like situation here,” he said.
