Shia parties observe anti-Taliban Day to express solidarity with martyr Pakistanis

mwm protestProtest rallies were staged across the country including Karachi on anti-Taliban Day and mourning day on Friday that was observed to condemn the terrorist attacks and to express solidarity with the martyr Pakistanis.

On a call from Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, secretary general of the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, the supporters gathered outside Jamey Masjid Noor-e-Eeman to hold main protest demonstration.

Allama Mukhtar Imami and Mubashir Hassan of the MWM and Allama Mirza Yousuf Hussain of All Pakistan Shia Action Committee spoke to the protestors.

They said that the terrorists of banned Sipah-e-Sahaba (ASWJ), Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Taliban were involved in genocide against Shiites and massacre of other Muslim and non-Muslim Pakistanis. They said that said terrorist outfits were involved in the targeted assassinations of Allama Taqi Hadi, Professor Agha Mohammad Salman and other Shia notables.

Amid the slogans of Labbaik Ya Rasoolullah (PBUH), Labbaik Ya Hussain (AS) and Death to Taliban, the Shia leaders demanded that these terrorist networks should

be dismantled by immediate military action.

Protestors were raising slogans against the Sindh Government and demanding Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto to take action to purge their PPP and PPP’s Sindh Government of the pro-terrorists elements. They appreciated the stance of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto but they criticized the PPP government in the province for their failure to eliminate the terrorists.

Similar protests were staged in other Shia majority areas of Karachi. The rallies and demonstrations were also staged in Sindh interior, Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber-Pukhtoonkhwa’s Kohat, Hangu, Peshawar areas, Quetta and also in Parachinar. MWM endorsed the Sunni Ittehad Council’s APC decision for anti-Taliban Day and mourned the assassinations of 6 Shiites in Karachi.
