Shia official of Intelligence Bureau, another martyred at mosque after prayers

A Shia official of Intelligence Bureau (IB) and another Shia notable embraced martyrdom and four others were injured when two terrorists of banned ASWJ opened fire outside the gate of a Shia mosque and Imambargah in the federal capital Islamabad on Wednesday evening.

According to the initial police report, two terrorists targeted the IB official when he was coming out of the Mosque/Imambargah in Sector I-8 after offering Maghrib/Isha prayers.
Industrial Area SP Liaquat Niazi said that four armed men on two bikes approached Imambargah Babul Ilm located in Sector I-8. Two attackers proceeded to the gate of the imambargah and opened fire on the people as they were coming out of the mosque after offering prayers, Niazi said.
The IB official died on the spot, while four others suffered bullet wound and have been shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for emergency medical treatment. The deceased has been identified as Syed Hubdar Shah. Meanwhile, an injured Syedain Zaidi also breathed his last at the hospital. 
A probe has been launched and the culprits are being traced with the help of CCTV cameras, the senior police official said. According to sources, they approached the area from Faizabad side and fled towards the same area after committing the crime.
Sources also said that there is a checkpoint in the vicinity but no police personnel was present there at the time of the attack due to a departmental meeting.
Federal Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal was quick to take notice of the incident and termed it a conspiracy to destabilise the country.
Shia parties and leaders have condemned the targeted attack at Shia Mosque in Islamabad and brutal murder of and injuries to Shia Muslims in the attack. They demanded capital punishment for the terrorists.
