Protesters at a rally in Skardu demand release of Nasir Shirazi

The supporters of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen staged a rally from Martyrs Monument to Press Club Skardu to protest against the enforced disappearance of MWM leader Nasir Shirazi and several other Shia notables, scholars and youths.

Carrying banners and placards, they were raising slogans against the Punjab government in particular. They condemned the illegal detention of law-abiding peaceful and patriot Shia Muslims without any case against them.
MWM office bearers Shaikh Kazim Zakiri of Shigar, Shaikh Shabbir Rajai of Kharmang, Shaikh Sadiq of Rondou, Shaikh Fida Ali Zeeshan of Skardu, Shaikh Ahmed Ali Noori of Skardu, Shaikh Yaqub, Shaikh Zamin Muqaddasi, Shaikh Ali Mohammad Karimi, Shaikh Fida Abdi, Fida Ali Shigri , Wazir Saleem, Fida Hussain, Shaikh Mubarak Arifi and several other eminent figures also participated in the rally.
Later, they addressed a press conference at the Skardu Press Club where they lambasted the PMLN government at the Centre and in Punjab. They said that remnants of dictator Zia ul Haq were plotting against the patriot citizens of Pakistan. They vowed that caravans from Gilgit-Baltistan too would go to Lahore to help the loyal sons of Pakistan in their struggle against the jungle law imposed by Punjab government.
