Cultural invasion can be foiled by appropriate use of media: MWM Chief
Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, has said that the media is an essential source to foil the cultural invasion that is being perpetrated by enemies broadcast.
“The media persons should have in depth knowledge of facts and clear understanding of good and bad and they must know those programemes of enemies through which they invade us culturally,” he said speaking to the office bearers and members of the MWM’s Media Cell.
Allama Jafari stressed on the importance of media highlighting changes and difference taken place in the role of different sources of media. He said that in the past, print media was an important tool and then electronic media made inroads but now social media surpassed both of them because print and electronic media cannot hide anything and everything they hide, social media post them for viewers and readers.
“Parachinar massacre and protest sit-in against that terrorist attack may be taken as a test case. Print and electronic media had to bow to the government pressure and they had stayed away from the coverage of those events but social media successfully covered all those events,” he said.
MWM Chief said that the Western and Hindu cultural invasion into Pakistan was deleterious for Pakistani nation and the media persons have to defeat these invaders and they have to protect young generation against misleading programmes of the enemies of our culture and identity. He urged youths they too remain vigilant and understand the facts and intention of enemies of Pakistan and Islam.
