Martyrdom anniversary of Mehram Ali being observed today

11 August, 2017 12:14

On August 11, 1998 Mehram Ali, a Shia Muslim was wrongfully hanged to death on the order a biased court who was scared of sectarian terrorists and the government of the time too was on the wrong side of justice.

Mehram Ali was accused of killing Ziaur Rehman Farooqi, a ringleader of notorious terrorist organisation Anjuman Sipah-e-Sahaba (ASS) that is still considered mother of all terrorism in Pakistan. Farooqi and his comrades had been preaching hatred and intolerance against the Shia Muslims and Sunni Bralevis in Pakistan declaring them infidels and pagans.
Instead of crushing the Anjuman Sipah-e-Sahaba for its terrorist activities and ideology of hatred, the government an judiciary nabbed and tried Mehram Ali for a work that was the duty of the state to do: elimination of terrorists and their ringleaders.
Mehram Ali’s sham trial didn’t meet legal requirements. He was convicted and tried and hanged to death because the powers that be were allies of Taliban regime of Afghanistan and Anjuman Sipah-e-Sahaba had become a franchise of Taliban in Pakistan.
Hence, Mehram Ali is considered a hero and great martyr who sacrificed his life for the sake of true Islam and rule of law because laws of Pakistan make it obligatory on the state organs to deal with people such as Ziaur Rehman Farooqi with iron hand.
