Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen leader Allama Mirza Yousuf Hussain has demanded that all those Shia Muslims who were taken into illegal custody must be released forthwith or they must be produced before court if they are implicated in any case under law.
“Enforced disappearance of innocent Shia scholars, notables and active youths, is totally unacceptable. Why law enforcers violate law,” he asked speaking at the ‘Stability of Pakistan and Imam Mehdi Conference,’ held at Nishtar Park under the aegis of MWM, on Sunday.
Allama Mirza Yousuf further said that his party received complaints that more than 300 innocent Shia Muslims were taken away but so far not a single arrest had been declared by the security officials. He said that had these Shia Muslims been involved in any case, they would have been produced before the court for trial hence he demanded that they must be released forthwith.
Otherwise, he demanded, they should be produced in the courts and be allowed their legal right to defend them though legal counsels. He demanded that family members of these illegally arrested Shias should be allowed to meet the detainees.
